What if the paternity of my child was questioned because the mother had a boyfriend at the time we conceived and I never signed a birth certificate. Well I had a paternity test and the child is mine. Can the courts order me to give the child my last name if I dont want to since me and the mother are not married and are not together???

If a childs parents aren't married but the mother gives the child the fathers last name on the birth certificate, how does that affect custody if they split. Will he have to adopt the child or could he be awarded any type of custody. He is verbally abusive along with other bad traites....thanks
